Our outstanding fitness professionals work well with all fitness levels, whether you are enjoying personal training sessions or group classes.  They create an inviting, upbeat atmosphere with easy-to-follow instruction so you learn how to exercise safely and see the results you desire.  We want physical exercise to be fun, motivating and uplifting!

_MG_8620_ppArlyne Spalla-Benson, LWMC, CPT, Group Instructor

Arlyne has 25 years of fitness experience as a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Instructor and has recently added the Health Coaching certification to her credits.  Having a degree in Biology from Auburn University, and a background in nursing, she has a good understanding of the medical and physical issues that our patients often face.

Arlyne has taught fitness in many places around the globe and owned her own studio while living in Wisconsin.  She is certified and licensed to teach Group Exercise, Water Aerobics, Body Pump, R.I.P.P.E.D., TRX, Kickboxing and Spinning.  She is a competitive runner and can generally be found in the top percentage of females in the event.

Jim BradleyJim Bradley, M.A., CPT

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degree in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University. He is certified as a Master Fitness Trainer with the National Federation of Professional Trainers. Jim is also a certified coach with USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, and USA Track and Field. Additionally, Jim is an Accredited Interscholastic Coach (Track and Field) with the National Federation of State High Schools Association. He also holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in Sports Performance and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) conditioning. Jim is a Track and Field coach at a local high school.  He is a Retired Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Coast Guard.

Jim currently competes in various triathlons, duathlons, cycling, and running events. During the past several years, Jim has been ranked in the top 15 in the Stat of Virginia in the Virginia Triathlon Series (Master Clydesdale Division).

Jim’s scope of practice includes weight loss, sports performance, strength and conditioning, and athletic conditioning.

Kelsie Maher picKelsie Maher, CPT, Group Instructor

After 18 years of dancing, coaching, and teaching in California, Kelsie graduated from Minot State University with a BS in Exercise Science: Corporate Fitness. She began teaching group classes and has held multiple titles in the industry including Group Fitness Manager, as well as Dance Program Manager at Eielson AFB, AK. Kelsie earned her ACE Personal Training certification in 2009, and has continued to earn multiple group fitness certifications in various formats ranging from LesMills BodyPump and BodyCombat to Silver Sneakers and Spin.

Being a military family, she has taken her fitness career with her from North Dakota, New Mexico, California, Alaska, and now joins us in Virginia. She has a husband of 10 years, and is a homeschooling mom to 2 kids. Kelsie also has found her passion for the profound impact nutrition plays in her clients overall health and wellbeing. She teaches the power of whole food nutrition education for children and adults.

Linda has worked in a professional position for the State of Virginia for over 30 years.  Her lifestyle has always included holistic modalities, staying active, feeling well and most recently enjoying the inner peace, strength and flexibility that yoga has brought to her life.   She has been practicing yoga for over 6 years and became a Curvy Yoga Certified instructor in 2015 and a 500 hour Certified Yoga Instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT-500), in June 2016.  She enjoys creating her classes with an emphasis on wellness and functional flexibility.  She enjoys seeing her students improve their health and overall well-being and become the best person they can be.

Spring Teller croppedSpring Teller, CPT, Group Instruction

Spring Teller fell in love with fitness over 10 years ago and knew instantly that she wanted to help people achieve their personal best as a career. In 2003, she earned her ACE Personal Training and ACE Lifestyle Manager certificates.  Since then, Spring has held numerous positions in the fitness industry, including Group Exercise Director at Hudson Athletic Club and Assistant Personal Training Manager at one of New York City’s most prestigious gyms, Crunch Fitness on Wall Street.  In addition, Spring Teller has trained people independently for over 8 years.

Classes offered at Weight Loss Fitness include:

Cardio Sculpt Circuit with Spring – Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Cardio Sculpt Circuit is a fun, high-energy 50 minute workout that incorporates cardio, weight lifting, and stretching.  The class begins with a 10 minute warm-up to prime the body for weight lifting.  Participants then move through an eight (8) station circuit, alternating cardio vascular exercise and weight lifting to provide you with the most time-effective workout.  The class ends with a rejuvenating stretch session.  This inclusive approach is guaranteed to help you reach your health and fitness goals.  The workout will be modified to suit all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced.

Pilates Fusion with Liz – Tuesday at 5:300 p.m.

Liz instructs a full body workout that includes intervals of upper and lower body exercises using equipment such as resistance bands and stability balls. Pilates style core and glute exercises complete the class to build, tone, and strengthen muscles with minimal impact.

Intervals with Kelsie – Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Kelsie mixes in a variety of exercises to strengthen your body – both the cardiovascular system as well as the musco-sleletal system!  A segment of each class will focus on strengthening your core. By changing up your fitness routine, you can break out of a plateau and achieve your fitness goals!

Yoga with Linda – Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Linda teaches a feel-good and non-intimidating yoga class that offers options to challenge many levels.  Sequenced asana will be performed on a mat or sitting in a chair. Practice may include mudras, relaxation with guided meditations(s) or lengthy shavasana to help melt your stress away.  Everything you learn in class you will be able to incorporate into your daily life for overall wellness.

Boot Camp with Spring – Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Don’t be intimidates by what you’ve seen elsewhere! Spring starts with the basics and gets your heart pumping in a boot camp designed for beginners but modified for those that want (or need) more of a challenge – give it a try and you’ll be back for more!
